The air temp inside is toasty and we actually start becoming concerned it is a bit too toasty. There are lockers available for use and with the large number of people who frequent the pool we think it is wise to make use of this facility.
Unfortunately once we hit the pool we discover the water temp is far to warm. It isn't pleasant to be sweating during a swim and it made for a very uncomfortable swim. We were also soon to discover it is amateur hour at the pool. I'm sure everyone reading this has experienced pool rage at one time or another from other inconsiderate pool goers. We found that general pool awareness was at record lows at Olympic Park. If you are prone to pool rage do not swim here the number of rank amateurs will do your head in. Not saying that we are consummate professionals but we allow faster swimmers to pass, don't do backstroke in the fast lane, don't adjust our goggles halfway through a lap etc....
The changerooms were new and not much negative to comment on. We were forced into an awkward conversation with a pool goer who mistook Andy for one of the Wallaby rugby players.
Score
Changerooms - 8 (Very decent. If you own a wallabies jersey be sure to also bring a pen for autographs)
Water Temp - 3 (Terribly warm. One of the worst pool temps I can remember)
Water clarity - 6
Water taste - 5 (Stale bathwater kept fresh with too much chlorine)
Price - 4 (I think the Carbon Tax has hit early and I'm not surprised with their heating bill.)
Ambience - 4 (Very busy. Lots of inconsiderate swimmers who would be better off in a backyard pool with a pool noodle.)
Staff - 5 (Pleasant but uneventful)
Overall - 4.5 - Can't imagine we will rush back in a hurry. If the proper Olympic pool is available for swimming we would consider it but otherwise lots of pools nearby with better swimming experiences.
